It all started in spring of 2008. Renee and I were on our way to Yellowstone when we made a stop in Blackfoot, Idaho to visit the Idaho Potato Museum. While we were there, Renee saw an old article on the wall that mentioned the museum having ice cream made from real potatoes. When we asked in the gift shop, we were told they no longer sell it. Back in the car we tried to figure out where such a thing might still be sold. After asking around and not finding anyone that knew if it still existed, Renee mentioned the idea of tummycaching. There was a website for finding geocaches full of inedible things. Why not have one for yummy things you can eat? Someone out there may know of a place with potato ice cream. We then reached Yellowstone National Park, and our heads filled with new thoughts unrelated to potatoes.
Time passes. The idea comes up now and then, passing through during conversations about traveling.
It's spring again. The two of us are discussing how we need to make another trip
to Rocks For Fun Cafe soon when the website idea creeps back into my mind.
It's mixed with the thought that more people should know about this place. There are
websites around such as TripAdvisor that are
great when you know where you're going and want to find something in the area. But what about
those places that are worth going out of your way to find? And so, after a lucky year of nobody else
buying the domain, I registered tummycaching.com and started work on it.
